(The Spread) – X Games 17 is this week and oddsmakers have released prop odds for this year’s event. Check out the latest skateboarding odds and unusual wagers.
Who will win the Big Air Event at X Games 17 on Thursday, July 28? Bob Burnquist (BRA) has EVEN odds on the money line to win, while Jake Brown (AUS) is +150. The long shot according to oddsmakers is Pedro Barros (BRA), who is +200 on the money line. Also, will any skater complete a “900” during the Big Air Event? Oddsmakers currently list the odds of that happening at +150.
In 2010, the gold in the Big Air Event went to Brown with a score of 93.66, while Burnquist took home the silver with a score of 93.00. Rob Lorifice came in third to claim the bronze with an overall score of 87.66.

Who will finish higher in the Vert Event at X Games 17? Canada’s Pierre-Luc Gagnon is –110 on the money line while the United States’ Shaun White is –130. And for the prop odd “Will Andy Macdonald (USA) win the Vert Event,” oddsmakers list the odds at +500, making him an obvious long shot to Gagnon and White.
In X Games 16 last year, Gagnon edged out White to win the gold with a score of 93. White finished with the silver with a score of 85 and the now 37-year-old Macdonald won the bronze with a mark of 79.
Finally, who will win the Street Event? Oddsmakers from online sports book Bodog are currently offering Ryan Sheckler (USA) at –150 money line odds, while Nyjah Huston (USA) is +110 and Canadian Ryan Decenzo is +300 on the ML.
In the Street Event last year, Sheckler won the gold with an overall score of 92.66, while Huston finished second with a score of 91.33 to claim the silver. Decenzo was also close to winning, scoring a 90.00 to finish with the bronze.
X Games 17 will take place on Thursday, with the Skateboard Park Elimination Event being shown on ESPN at 2:30PM PST and the Skateboard Park Round 1 and Final shown at 5:00PM PST.
