(The Spread) – Oddsmakers have released Track & Field odds for the Diamond League in Monaco, including head to head matchups props.
The 2011 Samsung Diamond League is the second edition of the Diamond League, which is an annual series of 14 one-day track and field meetings. The series began on May 6 in Doha, Qatar and will wrap up on September 16 in Brussels, Belgium.
On Friday the Diamond League will head to Monaco for the Men’s 5000 Meters and oddsmakers from online sports book Bodog have released head to head odds for some of the runners.
Chris Solinsky of the United States is a –150 money line favorite in his head to head matchup with fellow America Galen Rupp, who is +110 to finish head of Solinsky in the Men’s 5000 Meters.
Meanwhile, Bernard Lagat of the United States has Even odds to beat Mo Farah of Great Britain, who is favored to win this head to head matchup at –130 on the money line. It’s important to keep in mind that these odds are not for which runner will win the event. They’re only for their specific head to head matchup (i.e. Bernard Lagat is only pitted against Mo Farah and not against Solinsky or Rupp).
For the odds to win the entire Men’s 5000 Meters Group, Lagat is favored at –110 on the money line, while Farah is +130 and Solinsky is +650. Rupp is the long shot in the group, as his odds are listed at +900 to finish first in the Men’s 5000 Meters.
Bodog also has special odds listed for whether or not Usain Bolt will break the Men’s 100 record in 2011. “Yes” has odds of +500 on the money line while “No” has odds of –900.
