BALTIMORE, MD (The Spread) – Chris Tillman is coming off a solid outing on Monday and could be in store for another gem when the Orioles host the Yankees at 4:05PM ET.
Tillman allowed just two runs on five hits over seven innings on Monday in an 8-2 win at Washington on Monday night. That was his fifth quality start in his last six outings including seven scoreless frames in a victory at Yankee Stadium on June 22. If the trends are any indication, then more success could be on the horizon today.
The Orioles are 5-1 in Tillman’s last six starts against the Yankees, who are just 3-7 in their last 10 road games versus Baltimore and 1-5 in their last six meetings overall with the Orioles. The O’s are also 4-0 in Tillman’s last four starts overall, 5-2 in his last seven starts against the AL East, and 13-3 in his last 16 home starts with the total set between 9 and 10.5.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Orioles are -160 money line favorites today versus the Yankees, who are +147 on the ML. The total, meanwhile, is currently sitting at 9 runs.
The Orioles opened as -148 money line favorites but with 71% of the public backing them, their odds jumped to -160. On the other side, the Yankees’ odds have gone from +136 up to +147.
