In easily one of the most complex trades in recent NBA history, the Dallas Mavericks acquired Shawn Marion, along with Kris Humphries, Nathan Jawai and Greg Buckner.
As part of the deal, Hedo Turkoglu, Antoine Wright and Devean George were traded to the Toronto Raptors, while Marion, Humphries, Jawai and Bucker were sent to Dallas. Jerry Stackhouse, along with a future second round pick of the Raptors, were sent to the Memphis Grizzlies.
The fourth team in the deal was the Orlando Magic, who gets a trade exception as part of the deal, which means they didn’t lose Turkoglu for nothing.
Marion will now start for the Mavericks, while Turkoglu and possibly even Wright should start for the Raptors. According to oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL, the Mavericks have opened as 33/1 long shots to win the 2010 NBA Championship. The Grizzlies are whopping 200/1 long shots, the Magic are 20/1 and the Raptors are 25/1.
