LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) - Can you believe it's already Week 3 in the CFL? Here's a look at the spreads for this week's Canadian Football action.
Before getting to this week's odds, here's an update on the current standings.
In the West the Edmonton Eskimos and Winnipeg Blue Bombers are tied atop the division at 2-0, while the Calgary Stampeders are 1-0 and the Saskatchewan Roughriders are 1-1. In the biggest shock thus far, the B.C. Lions, who were favored to win the Grey Cup coming into the year, are 0-2 and have been outscored 51-29 in their first two games.
In the East the Toronto Argonauts and Montreal Alouettes are both 1-1, respectively, while the Ottawa Redblacks are 0-1 and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats are off to a rough start at 0-2, although both of those games have come on the road. Perhaps their misfortune will turn around this week when they play their home opener.
The Week 3 CFL action kicks off on Friday night when the Alouettes host the Blue Bombers are 7:00PM ET and the Redblacks head to Edmonton for a 10:00PM ET date with the Eskimos. According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, Montreal is a 2.5-point favorite over Winnipeg while the Edmonton-Ottawa game is currently a pick'em.
On Saturday the Argonauts are currently a 2-point home favorite versus the Stampeders at 6:30PM ET, while the Roughriders are a 6.5-point home favorite over the Lions at 9:30PM ET. B.C. quarterback Kevin Glenn has already thrown six interceptions to just two touchdowns thus far, which has certainly contributed to the Lions' poor start.
