Oddsmakers from online sports book Bodog have made the Stampeders a 7.5-point favorite over the visiting Argonauts for tonight’s Week 1 matchup at 9:05PM ET. The over/under total for this game is currently sitting at 51 points.

The under is 4-0 in the last four meetings between these two teams in Calgary and 5-2 in the last seven meetings overall. Meanwhile, the Argonauts have really struggled against the Stampeders in recent history, going 2-5 against the spread in their last seven and 0-5 ATS in their last five games in Calgary.

The line has held steady at 7.5 for the last couple of days. There are some books offering the Argonauts at +8, but most online books show them at +7.5. The total has moved slightly, dropping from 53.5 to 51 (0r even 50.5 at some books).

The focus tonight and throughout the season will be on Stampeders’ quarterback Henry Burris, who has thrown for more passing yardage than any signal caller in Calgary history. No one has completed more passes or thrown more touchdown passes either, although he has yet to win a Canadian Football League ring. Maybe 2011 will be his year to take the Stampeders to the top.
