The Houston Rockets potentially have a big problem on their hands, as center Yao Ming’s broken left foot could keep him out all of the 2009-2010 NBA Season, if not threaten his career.
Ming is scheduled to meet with specialists to determine what the next step is, as he’s hoping to avoid another surgery. Thus far, Yao hasn’t dealt with any pain or swelling, but obviously this news could be damaging.
If he does have surgery, it’s likely that Ming will miss a significant part of the 2009-2010 NBA season. The team plans on sending their center to more specialists before making any decision on surgery, but a decision should come soon.
The Rockets currently have 15/1 odds to win the 2010 NBA Finals according to oddsmakers from online sports book SPORTSBETTING, but obviously those odds will dramatically change if it’s believed that Ming will miss the entire season.
