Oddsmakers have made Jamel Richardson of Montreal a 5/2 favorite to lead the CFL in receptions in 2012. Edmonton’s Fred Stamps is 6/1, Nik Lewis of Calgary is 6/1 as well and Hamilton’s Chris Williams is 13/2.
Continuing with the odds, Weston Dressler of Saskatchewan is 7/1, Geroy Simon of the B.C. Lions is 8/1 and both Andy Fantuz of Hamilton and Terrence Edwards of Winnipeg are 10/1, respectively. Arland Bruce III of B.C., Jason Barnes of Toronto and Ken-Yon Rambo of Calgary are all 12/1, respectively, while Montreal’s S.J. Green is 15/1. Chris Getzlaf of Saskatchewan, meanwhile, is a 20/1 long shot to lead the CFL in receptions in 2011.
Richardson, Simon, Lewis and Stamps all made the 2011 CFL All-Star team last year, while Chris Williams of Hamilton won the CFL’s Most Outstanding Rookie Award. Richardson led the league in receptions last year with 112 catches, while Lewis was second with 93.
Richardson started his career with the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 2003 before catching on with the Dallas Cowboys in 2007. He went back to the CFL in 2008 when he signed on with the Montreal Alouettes and has been there ever since.
