SAN ANTONIO, TX (The Spread) - Will Manu Ginobili be a member of the Spurs for Game 1 of the 2013-2014 NBA regular season? Let's check out the odds.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the odds for Ginobili being a member of the San Antonio Spurs in the first game of the regular season next year are -165 for, and +125 against. This is despite Ginobili struggling mightily throughout the 2013 NBA Finals.
Ginobili scored 24 points in Game 5 of the Finals but was otherwise brutal in Games 6 and 7. He scored just 9 points in Game 6 and had trouble hitting shots in the fourth quarter as the Spurs blew a late lead, and in Game 7 he was a disaster both shooting and turning the ball over. While he did finish with 18 points, he handed the Heat opportunity after opportunity with the game on the line late.
Per a report by the San Antonio Express-News, Ginobili declined to comment on retirement questions following Thursday's Game 7 loss to the Heat.
"It's not the moment, Ginobili said. "I'm very disappointed. Very upset. I really can't say anything."
Ginobili will turn 36 years old in late July and has missed 54 games over the last two seasons. He'll be a free agent this offseason so if he does return, it'll likely be on a one-year contract.
