(The Spread) – The odds are out of the 2011 CFL Grey Cup and the Calgary Stampeders have opened as the favorites.
Oddsmakers from online sports book Bodog list Calgary as a favorite with 11/4 odds. The Montreal Alouettes have the next best odds to win at 7/2, while the BC Lions are 11/2 and the Saskatchewan Rougriders are 6/1.
Other odds include the Hamilton Tiger-Cats at 7/1, the Edmonton Eskimos at 15/2, the Toronto Argonauts at 10/1, and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers at 10/1.
Montreal is the favorite to win the Eastern Division at 1/1, while Hamilton is 5/2 to win the East, Toronto is 5/1 and Winnipeg is 6/1. In the Western Division, Calgary is 5/4 to win, Saskatchewan is 5/2, BC is 7/2 and Edmonton is 4/1.
Montreal is led by perhaps the best passer in the league in Anthony Calvillo, although Darian Durant and former NFL’er Henry Burris deserve mention as well. Edmonton (Calvin McCarty) and Toronto (Cory Boyd) boast two of the finer rushers in the CFL, while Winnipeg (Jade Etienne) and BC (Marco Ianuzzi) have a couple of solid rookie receivers that should make a splash in their first years.
