Wide receiver Brandon Marshall is upset with the Denver Broncos and has asked the team to trade him.
Marshall is apparently peeved about his hip injury and doesn’t want Denver’s team doctors to treat him while he recovers. But the main issue he has with the team is his contract.
Marshall is about to enter the final year of his rookie contract, which is paying him well below what his on-field production should allow him to make. But the problem is that Marshall can’t get his act together off the field and Denver doesn’t know if it wants to risk doling out a ton of guaranteed money to a player that has already had at least seven reported incidents with the law since coming into the league.
The Broncos also don’t want to lose another key member of their offense, as they did when they traded disgruntled quarterback Jay Cutler to the Chicago Bears in the offseason. If Denver is forced to trade Marshall too, its offense could be in a heap of trouble next season.
Oddsmakers from online sports book Sports Interaction have made the Broncos 45/1 long shots to win Super Bowl XLIV. They also gave Denver 25/1 odds to win the AFC and 10/1 odds to win the AFC West Division.
