(The Spread) – The well-rested Oklahoma City Thunder have opened as a somewhat sizeable favorite to win Game 1 against the Miami Heat.

The 2012 NBA Finals kicks off Tuesday at 9:00PM ET and oddsmakers have installed the Thunder as 5-point favorites over the Heat in Game 1. The over/under total for Tuesday’s game is 194.

The Thunder managed to finish off the Spurs in six games, all while erasing a 2-0 series deficit. They covered in five of those six games, including two of the three contests in which they were underdogs. They also covered all three times they were favored, which bodes well for bettors that want to back them in Game 1 of the NBA Finals.

They covered as a 2-point favorite in Game 6 and then came back in Game 7 and covered as an 8-point favorite.
