Stately Victor’s odds haven’t changed at all this week, but what does that mean for his chances to claim victory at the 2010 Belmont Stakes? Let’s take a look.

Bet Belmont Stakes Odds

Stately Victor Race Info:

Owner(s): Thomas F. Conway

Trainer: Michael J. Maker

Jockey: Alan Garcia

Post Position: No. 9

Updated Odds:

According to oddsmakers from online sports book, Stately Victor opened at 12/1 to win the Belmont and that’s where his odds currently rest now.

Recent Race History:

Stately Victor is coming off a brutal prep at the Kentucky Derby in which he finished eighth. He did win the G1 Blue Grass on April 10, which makes his eighth place finish at the Derby all the more surprising.

Betting Analysis:

We’re not sure why Stately Victor’s odds are 12/1, especially considering a more polished horse like Drosselmeyer is also 12/1. In nine career starts, Stately Victor has run only one out-of-this-world race, which was on Polytrack surface at the Blue Grass. His four previous starts on dirt produced lackluster results, including his eighth place finish at the Kentucky Derby on May 1. We don’t think he offers much value at 12/1 and we don’t see him finishing in the money this evening at Belmont Park.
