First Dude Race Info:

Owner(s): Donald R. Dizney

Trainer: Dale L. Romans

Jockey: Ramon Dominguez

Post Position: No. 11

Updated Odds:

First Dude opened at 4/1 to win the Belmont and that’s where he currently sits according to oddsmakers from online sports book

Recent Race History:

First Dude turned heads at the Preakness Stakes by finishing second. He wasn’t passed by winner Lookin at Lucky until about 70 yards out, giving bettors reason to believe he could emerge victorious tonight. He also placed third at the G1 Blue Grass and fifth at the G1 Florida Derby in his two outings prior to the Preakness.

Betting Analysis:

After his excellent showing at the Preakness, it’s kind of hard not to like First Dude’s chances tonight at the Belmont. He clearly runs just fine on dirt and against top competition, although it’s worth noting that Fly Down, one of the three favorites to win the Belmont, has already been First Dude in two previous outings over the last couple of months. First Dude might be tired after a grueling Preakness run, which doesn’t bode well for his chances against fresher contenders like Fly Down and Ice Box. Still, this horse proved his mettle at the Preakness three weeks ago and could very come away with a win tonight.
