Ice Box Race Info:

Owner(s): Robert V. La Penta

Trainer: Nicholas P. Zito

Jockey: Jose Lezcano

Post Position: No. 6

Updated Odds:

Ice Box opened as a 2/1 favorite according to oddsmakers from online sports book and that’s where his odds currently sit now.

Recent Race History:

Ice Box finished fifth at the G2 Fountain of Youth at Gulfstream Park on February 20, but bounced back to win the G1 Florida Derby on March 20. In his last outing, he finished second behind Super Saver at the Kentucky Derby, which was his breakout performance and the reason he finds himself as the favorite heading into the Belmont Stakes tonight.

Betting Analysis:

There’s not a lot to dislike about Ice Box’s chances of victory tonight. His second place finish at the Kentucky Derby was impressive and he’s fresh after skipping the Preakness Stakes. He should have the edge over First Dude, who finished second at the Preakness but might not have much left in the tank. There’s a reason Ice Box’s odds are favorable and we’ll be surprised if he doesn’t at least finish in the money at Belmont Park this evening.
