OAKLAND, CA (The Spread) – Quarterback Derek Carr has yet to resume throwing due to a hand injury, although the 24-year-old isn’t considering surgery.
Carr reportedly took snaps in Tuesday’s OTAs session but was sidelined for passing drills. He’s expected to return to full health by training camp but it’s a story that will continued to be monitored throughout the next couple of months leading up to preseason.
Carr will just have to wait a little longer to start throwing passes to first-round pick Amari Cooper, whom the team selected with the fourth overall selection in April’s draft. The Raiders signed former Minnesota Vikings first-round pick Christian Ponder to a free agent contract this offseason.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Raiders are 66/1 long shots to win the 2016 Super Bowl and 33/1 long shots to win the AFC Conference championship next season. They also have the worst odds to win the AFC West at 12/1. (The Broncos have the best at 5/9.)
