Both a former Indianapolis 500 champion and runner-up, Dan Wheldon isn’t given a lot of chance to win Sunday’s 2010 Indy 500.

Bet 2010 Indianapolis 500 Odds

Wheldon won the 2005 Indy 500 and was second a year ago and third in 2004, yet Wheldon isn’t among the favorites to win.

Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL currently list Wheldon at 25/1 to win the 2010 Indy 500. Helio Castroneves, who won the pole on Saturday, is the current favorite at 5/2 and Scott Dixon is 7/2 to win.

Wheldon has raced in seven different Indy 500s in his career and he has finished in the top four four times. This year, Wheldon has struggled, finishing with just one top five on the season. Wheldon hasn’t won a race since 2008, but has 15 wins in his career. Wheldon will start in the 18th spot for Sunday’s race, and that starting position has never produced an Indy 500 winner.

The 2010 Indianapolis 500 will start at 1:00PM ET on Sunday. For more information on the race, check out our 2010 Indy 500 Viewing Guide and for odds, see below.
