Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals is set to tip off on Wednesday night as the Orlando Magic head to Cleveland to take on the red-hot Cavaliers.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SPORTSBETTING.COM have made the Cavaliers an 8.5-point favorite over the Magic. The over/under total for this Eastern Conference playoff game is set at 184.5.
Cleveland enters Wednesday night’s game with a 56-33 ATS record, while Orlando comes in with a near identical ATS record of 56-39. The Cavs are 74-16 straight up while the Magic are 67-28.
While looking at the trends, Orlando has fantastic numbers against Cleveland. The Magic is 9-1 against the spread versus the Cavs over the last three seasons and 7-3 straight up against Cleveland over the last three seasons. Orlando is also 5-0 against the spread vs. Cleveland over the last three seasons.
Even though LeBron James and the Cavaliers swept both the Detroit Pistons and Atlanta Hawks so far in the postseason, the trends for their matchup with the Magic are too lopsided to ignore. We expect a Cleveland win, but love getting 8.5 points in an Orlando team that has covered the spread five of their last five times against the Cavs.
NBA Eastern Conference Free Pick: Orlando +8.5.
