Ramirez said Tuesday he ``wasn't trying to give up'' on a ball he accidentally kicked about 100 feet toward the left-field corner in the third inning. He loafed after it, allowing two runners to score in a 5-1 loss to Arizona. Ramirez says that was the hardest he could go after the ball.
Ramirez fouled a pitch off his left shin in the first inning Monday night and grounded into a double play in which he did not run full speed.
Manager Fredi Gonzalez did not have Ramirez in the starting lineup Tuesday.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book SPORTSBETTING.com have made the Marlins 40/1 to win the 2010 World Series.
