CHICAGO, IL (The Spread) – The Eagles are reportedly doing all they can in efforts to trade up in tonight’s NFL draft in order to nab quarterback Marcus Mariota.
A league source tells Profootballtalk.com that the Eagles are doing everything within their power to get from the No. 20 selection all the way up to perhaps the No. 2 pick, which is currently owned by the Titans. They have three picks in the top 85 and several players available for trade, including Fletcher Cox, Mychal Kendricks and Brandon Boykin.
Chip Kelly was Mariota’s coach at Oregon and despite trading Nick Foles and draft compensation to the Rams for Sam Bradford, the belief is that Kelly acquired Bradford in order to use him as a trade piece to get Mariota. This is all speculation as of now, but rumors will continue to heat up throughout the day as we draw closer to the 2015 NFL Draft at 8:00PM ET.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book GT Bets, the odds that the Titans will draft Mariota are currently 5/6. There were also rumors on Wednesday that the Browns have offered the Titans the No. 12 and No. 19 picks in exchange for the No. 2 selections o that they could land Mariota.
