LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) – Who will replace David Letterman as the host of the Late Show? The favorite probably won’t surprise you.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Stephen Colbert is a 3/1 favorite to replace Letterman as host of the Late Show, while Craig Ferguson has the next-best odds at 7/2. Chelsea Handler is also 5/1, while Conan O’Brien is 6/1 and Jon Stewart is currently sitting with 7/1 odds.
Continuing with the odds, Jerry Seinfeld is 9/1 to replace Letterman as host of the Late Show while Neil Patrick Harris and Louis C.K. are both 15/1, respectively. During a taping for his Late Show program on Thursday, Letterman announced that he will be retiring in 2015, ending more than three decades in the late night entertainment. Many would state that he’s had one of the most influential runs in talk show history, especially from a comedy standpoint.
Some are already speculating that Leno’s retirement last year had something do to with Letterman’s swan song. If you hold any value in the odds, Leno remains a long shot to become Letterman’s replacement but we’ll find out soon enough.
