Two teams that will be home for the playoffs will meet tonight in Winnipeg when the Jets host the Senators at 7:30PM ET.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Jets -125 money line favorites over the Senators, who have odds of +105 to pull off the small road upset. As for the total, the number currently sits at 5.5 goals.
Andrew Hammond will start in net for the Senators tonight and the backup goaltender has struggled this season. He made 20 saves while allowing three second-period goals in the Senators' 3-1 loss to the Islanders last Wednesday in New York. He's now 5-9-4 with a goals-against-average of 2.72 and a save percentage of .912. Hammond has shown no signs of turning things around.
Ondrej Pavelec, meanwhile, will start for Winnipeg. He turned away 29 shots in the Jets' 3-2 loss in overtime to the Flyers on Monday night but played well despite the loss. He was 14 seconds away from a shootout when Claude Giroux ended the game with a goal in OT. He's 10-13-3 with a 2.72 GAA and a .907 save percentage. Pavelec hasn't been great, he just hasn't been good either.
The Senators have dropped four of their last five games and are 7-20 in their last 27 road games. The Jets haven't been much better at home, losing 13 of 18 inside their own building, but they are 11-5 in their last 16 home games versus a team with a road winning percentage of less than .400.
