(The Spread) – With the NBA trade deadline approaching on March 15, oddsmakers have compiled a couple of prop odds involving the Toronto Raptors.
For the prop wager, “Will the Toronto Raptors make a trade on March 15, 2012,” the odds for “Yes” are currently sitting at 3/2 while the odds for “No” are currently 1/2. Meanwhile, for the prop wager, “Will the Toronto Raptors acquire Steve Nash during the 2011-12 regular season?” the odds for yes are 8/1.
Back in late February, Nash said that he “definitely” re-sign with the Suns after the season, which left many observers feeling as though he wouldn’t be dealt at the trade deadline. Even at 38 he suggested that he would play another five years.
The Raptors reportedly have a salary figure of $53 million, which means they can help another team get under the luxury tax by absorbing a contract via a trade. But they can’t unload someone like Leandro Barbosa’s deal without falling under the minimum salary threshold so the Raptors are seemingly in a holding pattern right now.
Oddsmakers currently list the Raptors as 1000/1 long shots to win the 2012 NBA Finals and 1000/1 long shots to win the Eastern Conference.Want More From TheSpread.com? Follow us on Twitter and Facebook or Subscribe to Our News Feeds!
