SEATTLE, WA (The Spread) – Marshawn Lynch has a new deal and the Seahawks are poised to make yet another run at the Super Bowl according to the latest odds.
Seattle signed its 28-year-old running back to a new three-year, $31 million contract late Friday evening. Lynch’s 2015 contract will be worth $12 million with $7.5 million coming via a signing bonus and another $4.5 million in base salary. He was previously owed $7 million so he’s earned himself a $5 million raise from the team.
But while Lynch will be under team control for 2016 and 2017 at $9 million and $10 million, respectively, that money isn’t guaranteed. Thus, after the 2015 season, Lynch’s contract is basically a year to year deal.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Seahawks are 11/2 favorites to win the 2016 Super Bowl after opening at 5/1. They’re also 7/2 to win the NFC Conference Championship in 2015-16 after winning their conference the past two seasons.
