GREEN BAY, WI (The Spread) – The Green Bay Packers have reached an agreement with their prized free agent this offseason, signing tight end Jermichael Finley to a new two-year contract.
Finley posted a message on his Twitter account Wednesday night appearing to confirm reports that he has agreed to return to the team. Finley wrote, ``It's TRUE! Thank you so much to the Packers organization, all my fans, and my beautiful wife.''
Finley was set to become a free agent, and the team was expected to consider using the franchise tag on him. Multiple media reports said Wednesday that Finley had re-signed with Green Bay.
While the Packers have not released the official details, Finley’s deal is reportedly for two years and $14 million. He’ll make $5.7 million in 2012 and $8.25 million in 2013 before becoming a free agent again in 2014. Another $1 million is available through incentives.
The Packers are 5/1 to win the 2013 Super Bowl and 5/2 to win the NFC conference championship next season. They opened at those same numbers following the 2012 Super Bowl.Want More From TheSpread.com? Follow us on Twitterand Facebook or Subscribe to Our News Feeds!
