Indianapolis coach Jim Caldwell says injured defensive end Dwight Freeney is still hopeful he can play in the Super Bowl against the New Orleans Saints.

Freeney has a torn right ankle ligament. Caldwell says Freeney is ``trending in the right direction.'' But he stopped short Friday of saying the Pro Bowler will be on the field against New Orleans.
The Colts are also hoping rookie cornerback and returner Jerraud Powers will play. Caldwell said Powers recently had surgery to repair a fractured left foot.

Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com currently list the Colts as 4.5-point favorites over the Saints on Sunday. The over/under total for the 2010 Super Bowl is currently 56.5.
