Oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com have made the Titans a  -3 point spread favorite. The over/under for this game has been set at 39.5 total points.

The fact that the Titans are only 3-point favorites is a gift. Yes they’re on the road and yes, they’ll eventually slip at one point this season but it won’t be this week against a Jaguars team that before last week’s win over the Lions, lost to the previously winless Bengals and struggling Browns.

Tennessee is a resounding 8-0 against the spread this year, including 6-0 ATS against conference opponents. They’re also 8-1 vs. division opponents over the last two seasons and are 6-0 this year after two or more consecutive wins.

While the Jaguars are averaging 22 points a game, the Titans are only allowing 13 PPG. Jacksonville loves to run the ball, but Tennessee is suffocating opponents’ running games, surrendering just 90.1 yards per game. And if the Jags think that they can throw the ball with David Garrard and Co., Courtland Finnegan and the rest of the Tennessee secondary has also been stout against the pass, allowing just 194.4 yards per game. Assuming linebacker Keith Bullock (chest injury) will play, the Titans will be at full strength defensively.
