Dolphins Season Odds

Ready for some football? The 2008-09 NFL Season is ready to kick off in September and oddsmakers have released individual odds for all 32 teams to win the Super Bowl. The Miami Dolphins are currently listed at 90/1.

Perhaps the Dolphins’ biggest offseason acquisition was welcoming Bill Parcells into the front office. Parcells didn’t stand pat either, inking free agents Justin Smiley (49ers), Ernest Wilford (Jaguars), Randy Starks (Titans) and Chris Crocker. Miami also landed arguably the best offensive line prospect in the 2008 NFL Draft in Michigan’s Jake Long.

Not a lot of football analysts are high on the Dolphins this year, but that doesn’t mean they don’t think the team is on their way to improving. Parcells has eventually won wherever he’s gone and the Dolphins had made strides to improving their overall talent level. The additions of Long, defensive end Phillip Merling and quarterback Chad Henne should make an impact now or in the near future.

Bet on the Miami Dolphins To Win Super Bowl XLIII

Miami is a long shot at every major sports book. Current prices on the Dolphins’ chances to win the 2009 Super Bowl range from 90/1 at Sportsbook.com and Bodog, and 99/1 at SBG Global.

Oddsmakers have also set the Dolphins’ over/under total for wins in 2008 at 5.5, but clearly think Miami will lose more than 5.5 games considering the under pays out at –120 compared to -110 for the over.

The Dolphins have a lot of work to do in order to rebound from their 1-15 record from 2007, but they certainly hired the right man to turn this sinking ship around. Parcells has already put his mark on this team and will continue to do so throughout the year, getting this team competitive along the way. Teams going from last to first is a common practice in the NFL, so don’t fall asleep on the Dolphins this year because they might surprise.
