Given Yankee Bravo’s experience and success on vastly different tracks, he might be a potential sleeper at the 133rd running of the Preakness Stakes. One of Yankee Bravo’s strengths is that he can race on all surfaces, including dirt, synthetic, cushion and tapeta. Combine that with his experience with some decent competition and you have a horse that is worth a second look. Working against Yankee Bravo, however, is that he didn’t race in the Kentucky Derby. In the previous 24 Preakness Stakes, only two horses (Red Bullet and Bernardini) have won the Preakness after not racing in the Kentucky Derby.
