Men’s 800m Free Pick
The finals for the Men’s 800-meter Run takes place tonight. Which man will emerge with the gold medal at the Rio Summer Olympics?
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, David Rudisha is the favorite to win gold, as he has -275 odds. Other short odds to win are Alfred Kipketer (+700) and Pierre-Ambroise Bosse (+1000). The final of the Men’s 800-meter Run takes place tonight at 9:25PM ET from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Rudisha competes for Kenya and he is the defending Olympic champion in the 800. He holds the world record in this event, a time of 1:40.91. He was third in the semifinals of the 800, posting a 1:43.88.
Kipketer competes for Kenya. He finished second in the 2014 World Junior Championships. His top time is 1:43.95 and he put up a 1:44.38 in the semifinals.
Bosse competes for France. He had the top time from the semifinals with a 1:43.85 but has yet to medal on a global stage in this event.
Rudisha cruised into the finals and still has plenty in the tank. He shouldn’t have much trouble finding a way to get past the field. Bosse put up a good time in the semis, but had to really push for it. Kipketer is likely Rudisha’s top competition, but he hasn’t been able to best him on the big stage yet.
