According to oddsmakers, the United States is still the clear favorite to win gold, as they have 11/10 odds. The host Great Britain has 4/1 odds to win, while three other countries have 13/2 odds.
The United States went 3-0 in pool play, outscoring opponents 8-2 in the process. The Americans scored the most goals of any team in pool play and they will now face New Zealand in the quarterfinals of the tournament.
The host country of Great Britain is on the same bracket side with the U.S., making for a potential interesting semifinal. Great Britain will face Canada in the quarterfinals after going 3-0 in pool play. Great Britain didn’t allow a single goal in pool play and managed to get past another favorite, Brazil, 1-0.
The United States and Great Britain were the only teams in the entire field to go 3-0 in pool play.
