Women's Javelin Olympic Odds
LONDON, England (TheSpread) – The longest female jumper in the world will be crowned at the 2012 Olympics. Here is a look at the odds to win the Women’s Long Jump in London.
According to oddsmakers, American Brittney Reese is the favorite to claim gold, as she has 4/5 odds to win. Other short odds to win are Olga Kucherenko (6/1) of Russia and Veronika Shutkova (8/1) of Belarus.
Reese is 25 years old entering the Olympics. She holds the World Indoor Championship record for the long jump and is the two-time defending Indoor and Outdoor World Champion. She competed at the 2008 Olympics, placing fifth.
Kucherenko is 26 years old. She will be competing in her first Olympics. She recently finished second in the long jump at the 2011 World Championships and was third at the 2010 European Championships.
Shutkova is 26 years old and competing in her first Olympics. She has yet to medal in any World Championship competition, placing sixth at the 2012 Indoor Championships recently.
