2013 ESPY Awards Odds
(The Spread) - The 2013 ESPY Awards will take place this Wednesday, July 17 at 9:00PM ET, and oddsmakers have released prop odds for the main categories.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, LeBron James is the favorite to win Best Male Athlete at 1/1 odds, while Adrian Peterson has the next-best odds at 5/2 and Miguel Cabrera is 4/1. Michael Phelps has the longest odds at 15/1.
James is also favored to win the ESPY for Best NBA Player at 1/3 odds, while the Spurs' Tony Parker is 7/2 and the Thunder's Kevin Durant is 15/4. Kobe Bryant, meanwhile, is a 12/1 long shot to win the award and Carmelo Anthony has the worst odds to win Best NBA Player at 20/1.
Unsurprisingly, Peterson is 4/7 to win the ESPY for Best NFL Player at 4/7 while Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning is 5/2 and Texans defensive tackle JJ Watt is 5/1. After his record-setting performance last season, Lions receiver Calvin Johnson is 13/2 while Aaron Rodgers is a 10/1 long shot.
After winning the Triple Crown last season, Cabrera is a 1/2 favorite to win the ESPY for Best MLB Player and Mike Trout has the next-best odds at 2/1. The reigning National League MVP, Buster Posey, is 9/1 to win, while David Price and R.A. Dickey are also 9/1, respectively.
Sidney Crosby, meanwhile, is a 1/5 favorite to win the ESPY for Best NHL Player, and Alexander Ovechkin is 2/1. John Tavares is also 12/1 whiel Martin St. Louis and Henrik Lundqvist are both 33/1, respectively.
Serena Williams is this year's favorite to win Best Female Athlete at 5/4 odds, while Brittney Griner has the next-best odds at 8/5. Gabby Douglas, meanwhile, is 5/2 to win this ESPY, while Missy Franklin is a 9/1 long shot.
Floyd Mayweather Jr. is favored to win the ESPY for Best Fighter at 2/3, while Jon "Bones" Jones is 5/4 and Anderson Silva is 4/1. Canelo Alvarez is a 25/1 long shot while Danny Garcia has the longest odds at 33/1.
The ESPY for Best International Athlete has Usain Bolt as the pre-award favorite at 2/3 odds. Novak Djokovic has the next-best odds at 9/4, while Lionel Messi is 3/1 and Cristiano Ronaldo is 9/1. Juan Manuel Marquez has the longest odds at 20/1.
Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel is the favorite to win the Best Male College Athlete at 1/5, while Trey Burke is 3/1 and both Kyle Dake and Drew LeBlanc are 15/1, respectively.
Finally, Tony Kanaan is favored at 1/2 to win the ESPY for Best Driver. Brad Keselowski has the next-best odds at 3/1, while Sebastian Vettel is 4/1 and Ryan Hunter-Reay has the longest odds at 10/1.
