According to oddsmakers from online sports book SPORTSBETTING.com, Lesnar had a betting line of -130 to win the fight, meaning at $130 bet on Lesnar will pay out an additional $100.
In the much-hyped main event, Lesnar got rocked early by Carwin and was sent to the ground where Carwin followed up with a barrage of punches. Few landed though, as Lesnar was able to intelligently defend himself. As Carwin kept hurling punches, he got more fatigued, and by the time the second round rolled around, he was a dead man walking. Lesnar got a quick takedown to start the second frame and then transitioned to an arm triangle, which forced Carwin to tap and suffer his first career loss.
In the co-main event, Chris Leben (+185) submitted Yoshihiro Akiyama in the third round by triangle choke. The upset win came after two spirited rounds of fighting where the two seemed to split the frames. Leben was landing solid shots while Akiyama mixed in judo throws and takedowns. An early takedown in the third didn’t amount to much for Akiyama, as Leben landed many strikes from the bottom before transitioning to the triangle choke for the win.
