LONDON, England (TheSpread) – Men’s Handball is a sport that should provide plenty of highlights at the 2012 Olympics. Here is a look at the odds to win this year’s gold.
According to oddsmakers, France is the favorite to win this event, as they have odds of +175. Other short odds to win are Denmark (+300), Spain (+500) and Croatia (+500).
At the 2008 games, France took home the gold medal. It was their first gold medal in Olympic history.
Denmark has never won a medal at the Olympics in men’s handball. However, they won the 2012 European Championship and also claimed the 2011 World Championship title.
Spain won the bronze medal at the 2008 Olympics. It was the third time they claimed bronze at the Olympics. Spain has never won gold or silver in men’s handball.
Croatia finished in fourth at the 2008 games. They won the gold back in 2004 and 2008 and are one of four countries that have ever won the gold twice in men’s handball.
