According to the latest oddsmakers, Williams is the clear favorite with 8/5 odds, while Petra Kvitova has 7/2 odds and Maria Sharapova has 8/1 odds. Wimbledon will be held from June 29-July 12 from the All England Lawn, Tennis & Croquet Club in London.
Williams is a 5-time winner of Wimbledon and a 20-time grand slam champion in her career. She last won Wimbledon in 2012 and has lost prior to the quarterfinals the last two years. Williams has won the last three grand slam events and could complete a grand slam sweep with a win in London.
Kvitova is a two-time winner of Wimbledon and the defending champion. This event seems to be where she shines, as she hasn’t won another grand slam event and hasn’t reached the quarterfinals in any other grand slam event since 2012.
Sharapova won Wimbledon back in 2004 and has only reached the finals one other time since. She has won five grand slam events in her career, but hasn’t advanced past the fourth round in five of her last seven grand slam tournaments.
