Updated Title Odds
With breaking news every day in college football, this is the perfect time to update the 2010 national title odds at BroburySports.com.
The biggest recent news was USC being disciplined by the NCAA. There was a two-year bowl ban, scholarships losses and probation. The Trojans should be able to keep their 2004 national championship.
That last part is good news for Reggie Bush and coach Pete Carroll. Those two guys are safely tucked away in the NFL now, but it was Bush’ transgressions and Carroll’s
‘lack of institutional control’ that caused a lot of the problems.
Also making headlines in the Pac-10, Oregon quarterback Jeremiah Masoli has been permanently removed from the team by coach Chip Kelly. Masoli was already suspended for the 2010 season after a burglary.
The Pac-10 has also been in the center of expansion talks. Colorado has already moved from the Big 12 and four others including Texas and Oklahoma could join them.
Nebraska has bolted to the Big Ten, so the Big 12 conference could be eliminated in a matter of days.
Looking at the odds below, Florida, Ohio State and Oklahoma have all moved into a tie with Alabama. That’s surprising as Nick Saban’s defending champs were the solid favorite a couple of months ago and will be the preseason No. 1 in almost all magazines soon to come out.
Boise State looks like great value at 12/1. They’re considered the No. 2 team in a lot of polls. They have almost all their starters returning and a favorable schedule if they get by Virginia Tech and Oregon State.
