Palace Malice Belmont Odds
ELMONT, NY (The Spread) - Palace Malice will take on the field at this Saturday's running of the Belmont Stakes. Could he surprise?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Palace Malice is 10/1 to win this weekend's race. Orb is favored at 3/1, while Revolutionary is 5/1 and Oxbow is 13/2. Freedom Child, meanwhile, is 8/1 while Unlimited Budget is 10/1 and Golden Soul is 12/1.
Continuing with the odds, Overanalyze is 14/1, Will Take Charge is 20/1 and Vyjack is 22/1. Incognito is 25/1, while Frac Daddy, Giant Finish and Midnight Taboo are 33/1 long shots, respectively.
Palace Malice has run in four graded stakes races during his career, placing third at the Grade 2 Risen Star, seventh at the Grade 2 Louisiana Derby and second at the Grade 1 Blue Grass. He also finished 12th at the Kentucky Derby back in May so it's a little surprising that he has 10/1 odds to win this Saturday.
In his non-graded stakes races, he finished second at a Maiden Special Weight on July 5 of last year, and first at a MSW on August 4. He also placed second at an Allowance on January 19 behind Majestic Hussar.
Palace Malice will start on the outside from the No. 12 gate, followed by Unlimited Budget (No. 13) and Golden Soul (No. 14). The favorite, Orb, will start from the No. 5 post while Revolutionary drew the No. 9 gate and Oxbow will start out of the No. 7 post.
The 2013 Belmont Stakes will take place from Belmont Park on Saturday, June 8.
