Street Life Belmont Odds & Preview
ELMONT, NY (The Spread) – With two victories on his race record, Street Life will look to upset the field at the 2012 Belmont Stakes on Saturday.
Oddsmakers have installed Optimizer as a 14/1 long shot to win this weekend while 2012 Triple Crown contender I’ll Have Another is the current favorite at 11/10. Dullahan is 15/4, Union Rags is 21/4 and Paynter is 9/1. Street Life is considered a mid-range long shot at 14/1.
In his last outing, Street Life finished third at the Grade II Peter Pan on May 12. He also finished a disappointing sixth at the Grade I Wood Memorial on April 7 but had back-to-back wins at the Broad Brush on March 17 and at a Maiden Special Weight on February 11.

Street Life is owned by Mueller Thoroughbred Stable, Ltd. and is trained by Chad C. Brown. He enters the 2012 Belmont Stakes with a career record of 5-2-0-1 and has a Best Beyer of 93. He drew the rail post position on Wednesday so maybe he’ll surprise with a nice outing on Saturday.
This will be the 144th running of the Belmont Stakes, with the post time scheduled for 6:35PM ET. I’ll Have Another will attempt to become the 12th Triple Crown winner after he was the 33rd horse to win the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes.
