But he lost his bid for the triple crown when he finished fourth in the Preakness Stakes on May 18.
In his non-graded stakes performances, he finished third, fourth, fourth and first, respectively, in four straight Maiden Special Weights that spanned from August 18 of last year through November of 2012. He also won an Allowance on January 26 of this year.
Orb drew the No. 5 gate when post positions were drawn on Wednesday. Frac Daddy will start on the rail while Freedom Child drew the No. 2 gate and Overanalyze drew the No. 3 post. Giant Finish will start fourth.
