Overanalyze Belmont Stakes Odds
ELMONT, NY (The Spread) - Could 2013 Belmont Stakes contender Overanalyze surprise the field this Saturday at Belmont Park?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Overanalyze is a mid-range long shot at 15/1 odds. 2013 Kentucky Derby champion Orb is favored at 7/2, while Revolutionary is 5/1 and 2013 Preakness Stakes winner Oxbow is 6/1.
The rest of the odds are as follows: Frac Daddy is 30/1, Freedom Child is 12/1 and Giant Finish has the worst odds at 40/1, although Midnight Taboo is also 40/1. Golden Soul is 12/1, as is Palace Malice, while Vyjack is 25/1 and Will Take Charge is listed among the long shots at 20/1.
Overanalyze has a ton of experience running in graded stakes events, although with varying degrees of success. After winning a Maiden Special Weight in his first career outing back in August of last year, he finished fourth in the Grade 2 Hopeful Stakes before claiming victory in the Grade 2 Futurity.
From there he won the Grade 3 Iroquois on October 28 of last year and won the Grade 2 Remsen on November 24. This year, he finished fifth in the Grade 3 Gotham Stakes and won the Grade 1 Arkansas Derby before crashing and burning in the Kentucky Derby, finishing 11th at Churchill Downs.
The post positions were drawn on Wednesday and Overanalyze will start out of the No. 3 gate, followed by Giant Finish, Orb, Incognito, Oxbow, Midnight Taboo, Revolutionary, Will Take Charge, Vyjack, Palace Malice, Unlimited Budget and Golden Soul. Frac Daddy will start from the rail and Freedom Child drew the No. 2 post position.
The 2013 Belmont Stakes will take place from Belmont Park on Saturday, June 8.
