Golden Soul Belmont Stakes Odds
ELMONT, NY (The Spread) - After placing second in the first leg of this year's triple crown, Golden Soul looks to pull an upset in this Saturday's Belmont Stakes.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Golden Soul is 12/1 to win this weekend's race, while Orb remains the favorite at 3/1 after winning this year's Kentucky Derby. Revolutionary has the next best odds at 4/1 while 2013 Preakness Stakes winner Oxbow is 6/1.
Continuing with the odds, Palace Malice is 10/1 while Freedom Child is 12/1 and Overanalyze is 15/1. Unlimited Budget and Will Take Charge are 20/1, while Always in a Tiz, Frac Daddy, Giant Finish, Incognito, Midnight Taboo and Vyjack are all 30/1, respectively. Saint Vigeur has the longest odds at 40/1.
Giant Finish has had varying degrees of success in the four graded stakes races that he's run in during his career. He placed second at the Grade 3 Lecomte on January 19 but also finished sixth at the Grade 2 Risen Star on February 23. He finished outside of the money again in the Grade 2 Louisiana Derby on March 30 but he surprised the field at Churchill Downs on May 4 when he placed second behind Orb in the Kentucky Derby.
In his two non-graded stakes starts, Giant Finish placed second at a Maiden Special Weight on November 18 and won a MSW on November 30 of last year, beating Winning Note and Seeking An Empire (among others).
The 2013 Belmont Stakes will take place from Belmont Park on Saturday, June 8.
