Midnight Taboo Belmont Odds
ELMONT, NY (The Spread) - The 2013 Belmont Stakes is this weekend and contender Midnight Taboo remains a massive long shot to win.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Orb is currently favored with 7/2 odds to win this Saturday's Belmont Stakes from Belmont Park in Elmont, New York. Revolutionary has the next best odds at 5/1 while Oxbow is 6/1 and Unlimited Budget is 8/1.
Meanwhile, Midnight Taboo is 40/1, which are the worst odds among the field, although Giant Finish is also a 40/1 long shot. Freedom Child, Golden Soul and Palace Malice are all 12/1, while Overanalyze is 15/1 and Will Take Charge is 20/1. Other long shots include Vyjack at 25/1, and Frac Daddy and Incognito, who are both 30/1, respectively.
Midnight Taboo has raced just three times in his career and has yet to start in a graded stakes race. He placed second in his first career race on August 3 of last year in a Maiden Special Weight, and then won a MSW at Aqeduct on April 6 of this year. In his third and most recent outing, he placed second at an Allowance at Belmont Park, so at least he has some success on this track.
The post positions were drawn on Wednesday and Midnight Taboo will start from the No. 8 gate. Frac Daddy drew the rail, Freedom Child will start from the No. 2 gate and Overanalyze drew the No. 3 post. The rest of the post positions are as follows: No. 4 Giant Finish, No. 5 Orb, No. 6 Incognito, No. 7 Oxbow, No. 9 Revolutionary, No. 10 Will Take Charge, No. 11 Vyjack, No. 12 Palace Malice, No. 13 Unlimited Budget, No. 14 Golden Soul.
