Ravelo’s Boy Belmont Preview
ELMONT PARK, NY (The Spread) – After not competing in the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes, contender Ravelo’s Boy is viewed as a long shot to win the 2012 Belmont Stakes.
Oddsmakers currently list Ravelo’s Boy as a 50/1 long shot, which makes him, Five Sixteen and Guyana Star Dweej the long shots to win this Saturday’s Belmont Stakes. I’ll Have Another is the current favorite at 3/2, while Dullahan is 7/2 and Union Rags is 4/1.
Ravelo’s Boy has competed in three races this year and didn’t win any of them. In fact, he finished no higher than fourth, which came on February 4 at the Sam F. Davis, which is a 1 1/16 mile race. At the start of the year he finished fifth in the Gulstream Park Derby on January 1 and also took fifth at the Tampa Bay Derby on May 19.
