According to oddsmakers from online sports book BroburySports.com, Evans had a betting line of -130 to win the fight, meaning at $130 bet on Evans will pay out an additional $100.
Evans used his quickness and speed to get around Jackson’s punching power. Evans opened the contest with a big punch that rocked Jackson and then followed up with a takedown to win the opening round. In round two, not much action happened, but Evans established the tone of the round and controlled the fight. The final five minutes saw Jackson nearly knockout Evans 90 seconds in, but Rashad recovered and wound up scoring a takedown moments later and finishing the fight with flurries. Evans won a unanimous decision from the judges.
In the biggest upset of the night Mike Russow knocked out Todd Duffee in round three of their heavyweight contest. Russow came with a line of +275 to Duffee’s -375. Duffee was controlling the fight from the start with his strength and striking, but no matter how many punches he landed, he couldn’t finish Russow. In the third, as Duffee’s arms started to tire, Russow caught him with a hook and followed up with another as Duffee crashed to the canvas and wound up unconscious. The loss for Duffee was the first of his career.
