Ryan Hunter-Reay Indy 500 Odds
INDIANAPOLIS, IN (TheSpread) – Ryan Hunter-Reay is one of the best drivers IndyCar has, but will he get his first Indianapolis 500 victory this Sunday?
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Hunter-Reay has been given 10/1 odds to win this race. He will start in 19th position for Sunday’s race.
Hunter-Reay is competing in his seventh Indianapolis 500, but his past results aren’t too strong. While he did finish third last year, it was his first and only top 5 in the race. He has finished outside the top 20 in three appearances and outside the top 10 in four.
Hunter-Reay is having a strong start to the 2013 season, as he is second in the point standings. He has one win and a pair of runner-up finishes thus far. He was the 2012 points winner, but struggled to a seventh-place finish in the standings in 2013.
Hunter-Reay is going to start 19th on Sunday, which is actually his fourth-best starting spot in this race. He has qualified outside the top 15 five times in the Indy 500. The 19th position has only produced one Indy 500 winner, which was back in 1954. He will start from the seventh row, which has produced a total of five winners, with the last win coming in 1987.
The Indianapolis 500 will take place on Sunday, May 25 from Indianapolis Motor Speedway at Noon ET.
