Dialed In Preakness Update
(The Spread) – There’s plenty at stake for contender Dialed In when he races in the 2011 Preakness Stakes this evening.

Dialed In has the chance to become a $6 million horse if he can win the 2011 Preakness on Saturday. The Preakness is a $1 million race and he’ll win an additional $5.5 million bonus because he won the Holy Bull Stakes and Florida Derby earlier this year. MI Developments, the parent company of Pimlico and Gulfstream, put up the bonus.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com listed Dialed In as a 4/1 favorite when they released the odds earlier this month. But since then, his odds have dropped and now he’s 9/2 (although he’s no longer the favorite – Kentucky Derby winner Animal Kingdom is).
In five career races, Dialed In has only finished off the board once. Unfortuntely he did so at the 2011 Kentucky Derby when he finished a disappointing eighth despite being favored going in. That said, he has three victories in his five-race career.
He won his debut last November at Churchill Downs in a 6 ½ furlongs race, then won again at Churchill Downs when he took first at The Holy Bull. He placed second at an allowance at Gulfstream Park on March 6 of this year, then won The Florida Derby on April 3.
Dialed In is owned by Robert V. LaPenta and trained by Nick Zito. Julien Leparoux will have the mount tonight when Dialed In comes out of the No. 10 post position.
