Preakness Stakes Morning Odds
BALTIMORE, MD (The Spread) - It's the morning of the 2013 Preakness Stakes and as we draw closer to post time, Orb remains the clear favorite.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Kentucky Derby winner Orb remains a favorite at 10/11. Departing has the next best odds at 7/1 while Mylute is 8/1 and Goldencents is 9/1. Both Governor Charlie and Itsmyluckyday are both 10/1, respectively, while Will Take Charge is 12/1. Oxbow is 18/1 and Titletown Five has the longest odds at 33/1.
Orb, Mylute, Goldencents, Governor Charlie, Itsmyluckyday, Will Take Charge and Oxbow all competed in the Kentucky Derby two weeks ago. Orb picked up the win while Mylute finished fifth and Oxbow was right behind him at 6th. Will take Charge took 8th, Itsmyluckyday finished 15th and Goldencents was 17th.
On Wednesday the post positions were drawn for the 2013 Preakness Stakes and Orb drew the rail. Goldencents will start from the No. 2 gate while Titletown Five drew the No. 3 post. Departing will start in the No. 4 post, Mylute will start out of the No. 5 gate and Oxbow drew the No. 6 post. Will Take Charge (No. 7), Governor Charlie (No. 8) and Itsmyluckyday (No. 9) round out the rest of the field.
The 2013 Preakness Stakes will take place today, Saturday, May 18th, from Pimlico Racecourse in Baltimore, Maryland. Post time for the event is approximately 6:24PM ET.
