Updated Odds: Terrain
The 134th running of the Preakness Stakes takes place today and one of the long shots is Terrain, whose odds are 30/1 to win.
When the opening odds were released, Terrain was a 25/1 long shot. Now oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com have made risen his odds to 30/1 with the 2009 Preakness to run in a couple hours.
Terrain started his career on a tear, winning his firs three races before taking home a second place finish on October 4 at Lane’s End Breeders’ Futurity. Then he got into a funk over the course of his next four races and hasn’t finished better than third (Louisiana Derby on March 14).
Terrain will have his hands full on Saturday going against favorites Rachael Alexandra (8/5), Pioneerof The Nile (5/1) and Mine That Bird (6/1). Still, don’t forget that Mine That Bird was a 50/1 long shot to win the Kentucky Derby, so you can’t count Terrain out of the Preakness.
The 2009 Preakness Stakes takes place today at the Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Maryland. For complete odds see below, and for general information about this year’s race, be sure to check out our 2009 Preakness Stakes Viewing Guide.
