Icabad Crane Odds

Listing Icabad Crane at 16/1 odds to win the 2008 Preakness most likely has more to do with his bloodlines than his record or performance. Both of which aren’t very good. However, Icabad Crane opened some eyes when he won in Pimlico’s Federico Tesio Stakes. Still not enough according to most horse racing handicappers.

Expected to be a part of Preakness Stakes’ undercard only a short time ago, trainer H. Graham Motion decided that Icabad Crane was ready for the big time and therefore he’ll race in the 133rd running of the Preakness.

Bet Icabad Crane in the 2008 Preakness Stakes

Oddsmakers from Online Sports Book Bodog have made Icabad Crane’s odds to win16/1 for Saturday’s race. Due to his lack of tactical speed, observers note that Icabad Crane’s best chance at success is to stay close enough to the pack and make one big run.

Even though he raced well in Maryland at Pimlico’s Federico Tesio Stakes, Icabad Crane isn’t expected to keep pace with Preakness Stakes’ favorite Big Brown.

Icabad Crane will start the 133rd Preakness Stakes from the number 3 post position.
